ALYSSA MERTEN, CLAYBANKS POTTERY
Claybanks Pottery is a family-owned business located in one of the most beautiful places on earth - the western shore of Lake Michigan. If you can, I’d strongly suggest visiting this spot and wandering around the grounds and the shop yourself. You won’t regret it! If you can’t get there just yet, I hope the site we developed is the next best thing, showcasing the best of their unique, handmade pieces and giving you a chance to place a custom order.
I worked with Alyssa, the business manager (who also happens to be married to one of the owner-artists, Adam). Alyssa is pretty tech-savvy and she had been investigating a web overhaul for many years. She was having a hard time finding focused time to make it all happen while balancing the needs of the business, her family, and her other job. We created a project plan together and were able to get the site up and running just as the studio’s busiest season kicked off!
The following year, Alyssa reached out for help bringing their sales online. The artists at Claybanks really like creating one-of-a-kind pieces and interacting with their customers at the gallery, but the COVID pandemic and related shutdown called for a shift in strategy. We started with a pop-up sale, and transitioned to a full-blown web store to complement the onsite shop. Now, you can shop for beautiful Claybanks pieces - still totally unique pieces of art - from anywhere!

Lyndsey Gelhaus, LMG Photography
Lyndsey's clients all know that she's an artist with a true talent for helping them feel relaxed in front of the camera. As a result, she's able to capture natural smiles and genuine expressions.
Lyndsey and I work together on marketing projects often, so I also know she's a perfectionist. She knows her stuff when it comes to the technical side of photography, and you can always count on her to pay attention to every important detail.
It came as no surprise that this artist+perfectionist knew exactly what she wanted her site to look like. She just needed some help to make her vision a reality. She also needed to learn how to update and maintain the site. Now, Lyndsey's website showcases her beautiful photography, and she's able to keep it fresh with new work and information about current promotions.

Great Turtle Toys is a totally unique toy store on Michigan's beautiful Mackinac Island. Like most businesses on this idyllic resort island, they are closed for the winter. They needed a way to extend their selling season, to continue to interact throughout the year with loyal customers, and to help new customers find them and plan a visit.
